Catriona has worked with children and families for more than 20 years, is a dedicated professional and has a passion for child and family centred therapy.

Specialising in Special Educational Needs, Catriona brings a wealth of experience of the Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) application, assessment and appeals process, supporting families every step of the way.

Catriona founded KiDs OT – SEN Consultancy in September 2017 and lives in South London with her husband, two children and their goldfish.

In her ‘spare’ time Catriona run’s a premature baby charity, The Smallest Things, and is an advocate for families after neonatal intensive care.

Experience

Qualifying as an Occupational Therapist in 2002 and having worked at leading children’s centres such as Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Hospital, Kings College NHS Foundation Hospital and the Mary Sheridan Children’s Centre, Catriona brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of children and young people with a wide range of needs.

Code of Ethics and Practice: Catriona is a member of the British Association of Occupational Therapists and is registered with the Health Professionals Council; as such she is bound by their Code of Ethics and subject to their Complaints Procedure in all aspects of her work.

Clinical Practice: Adhering to the professional Code of Ethics and Practice Catriona’s clinical practice is of a high standard and based within up-to-date clinical evidence and research.

Child Protection: Catriona has a legal obligation to keep up-to-date with latest child protection legislation and undertakes child protection training level 1 on an annual basis. Catriona makes it her duty to be aware of and adhere to local child protection and safeguarding policies of the establishments that she visits, for example schools. Where required Catriona will raise any concerns to the establishments safeguarding leads or local safe guarding teams.
